Slept for more than 8.5 hours (almost a record for me), then realized it would be rather hot while #Running – and so I ran almost completely in the shadows of trees, equipped with two water flasks. That was quite nice, actually. While at it, I listened to the new Stephen King novel, which, I must say, is absolutely great. Damit war auch mehr Lauftechnik dran. Vorder- und Mittelfußlaufen konnte ich bisher einfach nicht, weil es schlicht unmöglich war, die Technik umzusetzen. Mit den Einlagen ging es dann wie von selbst, das war mal eine spannende Erkenntnis. Ich freu mich.

I *think* I just ran my fastest 5k of my late 40s/early 50s? 45:37, I know that’s super slow by most people’s standards but it’s speedy for me! It used to take me 50 minutes or even longer. What was great was that I just ran it comfortably and didn’t even consider stopping, although the last half a kilometre was a bit of a slog.
I’ve seen a chart saying that the average 5k time for a 50yo woman beginner runner is 39:39 so I’m waaaay slower than average. At least now I know I can run 5k fairly easily I can work on improving speed and increasing distance.

Everything was calm today - thank heavens!
Ran along the man made trail for only the second time, this time getting some pictures along the way.
The stony semi solid ground is great for strengthening the foot in the barefoot shoe, plus the gorgeous sunrise is always a great way to start the day.
A very slow run today hitting consistently low heart rates. Interestingly all the algorithms improved their predictions for a marathon. #running
